கன்பராவில் ரோகித போகல்லாகம

வருகின்ற செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை சிறிலங்கா வெளியுறவுத்துறை
அமைச்சர் ரோகித போகல்லாகமவின் வருகையை எதிர்த்து
அவுஸ்ரேலிய வாழ் இளைஞர்கள் மாபெரும் கண்டன நிகழ்வை
நடாத்தவிருக்கிறார்கள். பயங்கரவாதிகளை அழிக்கின்றோம் என்று உலகிற்கு பரப்புரை செய்துவிட்டு சாதாரண பொதுமக்களை கொன்று குவித்துவரும் இலங்கை அரசையும் இவ்வாறான பொருளற்ற அமைச்சர்களையும் எதிர்த்து குரல் எழுப்ப அனைவரும் இணையவேண்டும்.

தாயகத்தில் என்ன நடந்தாலும் எனக்குக் கவலையில்லை என்று பகட்டுப்பேசி பார்ட்டிக்குப் போகின்ற கூட்டமாக இல்லாமல் சொந்தச் சகோதரர்கள் துன்பத்தில் சாதல் கண்டு துடித்தெழுவோம். கனடா, இங்கிலாந்து, இந்தியா போன்ற நாடுகளில் வாழ்கின்ற தமிழர்களைப்போல நாமும் எங்களுடைய ஒற்றுமையை பறைசாற்ற வேண்டியவேளை இந்தவேளை. படிப்பு, வேலை போன்ற காரணப் படைப்புக்களையும் கண்துடைப்புக்களையும் கேட்டுக் கேட்டுப் புளித்துப் போய்விட்டது. குறுகிய கால அழைப்பாக இருந்தாலும் வருக! தமிழர்களாய் தமிழர்க்காய் இணைக.


On Tuesday the 14th of October, the Sri Lankan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Rohitha Bogollagama will be conducting a press conference in Canberra. He has been a member of the Sri Lankan Parliament from 2000 and also represented the SriLankan Government at the two rounds of peace talks held in Geneva with the LTTE in 2006. We will be traveling to Canberra on Tuesday to protest his presence in Australia, and in the hope that we can draw media attention to our cause. Buses have been organised and will be leaving from both Homebush and Pendle Hill at 7am on the 14th. It is expected that we will be back in Sydney at approximately5pm.

As Australian Tamils, it is our responsibility to do everything in our power to stand up for our brothers and sisters and ensure that their silenced cries are heard by the world. We cannot stress enough, how important it is that everyone attends the protest on Tuesday! We have to show our solidarity and strength. Ten voices are better than one and one hundred voices better than ten. We understand that many of you will have study and work commitments but we ask that you take the time and make an effort for the sake of our people.

Even if you cannot make it, most of you have parents or grandparents who can take the time off; younger siblings eager to take a day off school; other family and friends keen to participate in this event. Please take a few minutes and help us spread the word. We realise that it is very last minute but we hope that you will understand the seriousness of the situation and join us in Canberra. Please let us know how many seats you will need and where you wish to board the bus by replying to this message ASAP.

I strongly believe that 'having classes or work' is not a valid excuse and have to work as hard as how we worked for the dinner. Regardless of where you came from and what your background is, it is time for us to unite as Tamils to protect the ones back home. As you all know, Tamils in Canada, London and India have shown their support to the Tamils suffering in Sri Lanka... and it is time for us to show that WE CARE ABT THEM.

Buses are organised for free of charge ( voluntarily payments are welcomed) and takes you a working day (8 hours) to prove our unity. I will be catching the bus with you guys, therefore, you will not feel isolated. PLEASE BE THERE!
